Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme

In autumn 2020, the UK Government through the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) launched the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), a £1Billion fund to help start transform the public estate to carbon emission free.

Aura have a successful track record working with public sector organisations to help secure grant funding and provide design & project management services for capital investment and maintenance works.  Aura has recently worked with Local Authorities on the first round of PSDS funding to develop design and funding solutions to enable a number of applications to be made before the scheme closed.

With a potential second round of PSDS grant funding expected in the coming months for capital energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation projects, it is now that public sector bodies associated with non-domestic buildings should be preparing their team and solutions for securing funding from the PSDS. The previous round of PSDS funding offered support to public sector clients through an additional Low Carbon Skills Fund to cover professional fees to develop submissions.

Our Approach

Aura have put in place a consulting service to help public sector clients with the PSDS fund.  Our approach has been developed to offer a comprehensive service to manage part or the full PSDS solution.  The Aura team offer bid management services to secure grant funding, project management services for the totality of the scheme, design and a turnkey construction / installation service.

Aura is able to provide bid & project management, mechanical & electrical designers, structural engineers, energy management specialists, quantity surveyors and Principal Designer Services.

Our Experience

Aura has a highly experienced team in bid management, project management, design and construction services covering education, energy, health and community sectors.  The team has experience of working with public sector clients on their initial PSDS applications to Salix.  In addition, we have a proven track record in obtaining CIF funding for Academies and Salix funding for schools in the North East.
